Still Lost

Returning to Rotterdam from Bristol has been an utterly surreal experience. Even though I really enjoy being with my girlfriend again, it’s very strange to have your surroundings change so drastically from one day to the next. In order to keep the Bristolian spirit alive down here in Rotterdam, I ordered a Hohner Blues Harp (in D), and I plan to kick ass with it.

Also Lost

Another item on my list of Incredibly Stupid Things, I got so excited about installing my new copy of Mac OS 10.4 Tiger I forgot to backup some essential files from the most complex scene I did on our animation project “Junk”. After wiping my hard drive, playing around with Tiger for a bit, and deciding I should get some work done, I discovered that the final renders of seven background plates in Maya had gone missing. To make things worse, the source files were gone too. Oops. Several hours of blasphemy later, I’m rendering them out again. Probably not as nice as they were before though…

Post production of Junk is almost done. I need to composite 2 more shots, and Paco needs to do a few seconds of simple 2d animation, and then we’re handing it off to sound. If only that day were today… Some of the composites are getting quite complex, and I’ll be sure to post about some of the more interesting shots in the next couple of days.

• I have some interesting projects in both web and animation coming up.
• Safari in Tiger supports the animated link hover icons.
• I’m climbing wednesday!
• This is pretty damn funny.
• I need to go to bed now.
